The squeegee unit for screen printing comprises an elastic or flexible cylindrical or bag-like container 7 having a printing material squeegee 3 mounted at one end and contained in a sealable chamber 15 of a housing 4, and a fluid pressure generator such as a hydraulic cylinder 13 or the like adjustable at pressure in the chamber 15 to positive or negative predetermined pressure provided in the housing 4. In this case, the container 7 is pressed by positive pressure in the chamber 15 to squeeze out the material 9, and the material 9 in the container 7 is kneaded by repeating expanding and pressing.
