Title:
STABILIZATION OF OLEFIN PRODUCTION CATALYST SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3280184
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the heat stability and activity of an olefin production catalyst system obtd. by the reaction of a chromium compd., a pyrrole compd., and an alkylmetal in the presence of an unsatd. compd. by bringing the catalyst system into contact with an arom. compd.
CONSTITUTION: A chromium source substance [e. g. chromiun (III) 2,2,6,6- tetramethylheptanedionate], a pyrrole compd. (e.g. 2,5-dimethylpyrrole), and an alkylmetal (e.g. triethylaluminum) are reacted in the presence of an unsatd. compd. (e.g. 1-hexene). The resultant catalyst is used as the main component for producing an olefin production catalyst system. The catalyst system is brought into contact with an arom. compd. (e.g. toluene) under conditions enough to improve the heat stability or activity, giving an olefin production catalyst system excellent in heat stability, activity, or the like. Thus treated catalyst system is esp. useful for the dimerization and trimerization of an olefin.
