Abstract:
PURPOSE:To stabilize the optical squeezer composed of a nonlinear Mach- Zehnder interferometer by controlling the squeezer so that the intensity of output signal light in a squeezed state is minimum. CONSTITUTION:The optical squeezer 10 which is so constituted that only pump light is inputted and the output signal light in the squeezed state is outputted to an output port from the output port for the pump light is equipped with a signal light intensity detecting means 11 which detects the intensity of the output signal light in the squeezed state and a squeezer control means 12 which controls the optical squeezer 10 by using part of the detected output signal light so that the intensity of the output signal light is minimized. For the control for minimizing the intensity of the signal light, an electrooptic element is inserted into the arm of the optical squeezer 10 and controlled by using part of the output signal light to equivalently vary the length of the arm. Namely, feedback which minimizes the intensity of the signal light is provided to stabilize the optical squeezer 10.
