PURPOSE: The titled stabilizer for a resin with excellent effect for heat stability, which comprises a specified sulfur-contg. metal carboxylate and a monoalkyl-tin- contg. sulfur cpd.
CONSTITUTION: A stabilizer for a chlorine-contg. resin (e.g., a vinyl chloride resin or a vinylidene chloride resin) is obtd. by mixing (A) at least one selected from sulfur-contg. metal carboxylates of formulas I and II (wherein R1 and R4 are alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aryl or aralkyl; R2 and R3 are H or methyl; M1 and M2 are Ba, Ca, Mg or Sr; m and p are 0W1), with (B) a monoalkyltin-contg. suflur cpd. [e.g., formula III or IV (wherein R5 and R6 are alkyl; R10, R11 and R12 are alkyl, alkenyl, aralkyl, cyclohexyl or alkoxyalkyl; q, r and s are 1W2; z, representing degree of polymn, is 1W10), pref. in a wt. ratio of 10:2W1:10.
