To obtain a stapling device, the head part and the anvil part of which can move separately from each other and the maintenance such as the dealing with the standstill of a staple or the like of which is easy.

In this stapling device 50, a head part 51, at which a staple is struck in a paper bundle, and an anvil part 61, which receives the staple struck out of the head part 51 and then bends it, are respectively provided movably widthwise to a paper passing direction. In this case, the head part 51 and the anvil part 61 consist respectively of holders 52 and 62 engaging with supporting members 81 and 82 and driving shafts 72 and 73 and a stapling unit 56 and a staple receiving unit 65 respectively and detachably mounted to the holders 52 and 62.
