Abstract:
To provide an improved liquid-dispersible starch thickener to make a liquid such as milk easily swallowable when a dysphagia patient or the like drinks the liquid.SOLUTION: A pregelatinized, hydroxypropylated starch has a level of hydroxypropylation in the range from about 1% to about 10%; an RVA viscosity in the range from about 400 cP to about 3500 cP; where the pregelatinized, hydroxypropylated starch is readily dispersible in milk.SELECTED DRAWING: None
