Abstract:

To rapidly start an internal combustion engine while preventing a hydrogen fuel from leaking to the outside through an intake port.

The fuel injection valve 21 of the engine 1 formed, for example, in a rotary piston type is disposed to directly inject the fuel into a combustion chamber, and the fuel injection timing of the fuel injection valve is controlled by a control unit U. When the engine in a stop state is started in response to a start instruction, the engine 1 is driven by a generator 3 used also as a starter motor. When the generator 3 is driven, the fuel is injected into the combustion chamber in a compression stroke when the intake port 27 of the combustion chamber in the compression stroke is closed when the engine is stopped, and the fuel is injected after the intake port 27 is closed when the intake port of the combustion chamber in the compression stroke is opened when the engine is stopped.
