PURPOSE: To attain smooth restarting by delaying action of a starter and actuating only a fuel pump when a normal temperature starting condition is not satisfied by a temperature of fuel in the vicinity of an inlet and the inside of an injector.
CONSTITUTION: When an ignition switch 22 is set to a starter position, an excitation coil 30 is energized with a main relay 29 closed. Then an excitation coil 32 is energized to close a relay 31 with an electric motor-driven pump 9 operated. While now when a normal temperature starting condition is not satisfied with signals of fuel temperature sensors 7, 14 both not more than a preset value in the vicinity of a fuel vapor generation temperature further with a differential temperature not more than a preset value, electrification to an excitation coil 28 of a relay 27 is not performed by an ECU33, and a starter 3 is maintained in an inoperative condition. However, the relay 27 is energized thereafter by a delay means such as a timer, thus by first actuating the starter 3, an engine is started.
