Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting device for an engine, capable of solving a problem that a pinion or the like of a starter device is rusted by intruding muddy water or the like while reducing size and weight of the engine.
SOLUTION: When a flywheel interlockingly rotating with a recoil device 2, a ring gear fixed integrally on the flywheel, and a pinion of the starter device to be engaged with the ring gear during the starter device being turned on are accommodated in a recoil cover 4 for accommodating the recoil device 2 composing the starting device 1, a drain device 8 is provided by forming a boss 8a on the recoil cover 4 integrally and disposing a drain cap 8c, made of rubber or the like, detachably by one touch without using a tool on a drain pipe 8b vertically formed on the boss 8a. Therefore, the muddy water or the like intruding into the recoil cover 4 can be removed immediately by pulling up the drain cap 8c by hand.
