To provide a static mop which can efficiently provide strong static electricity and exhibit stable dust attraction performance.
A static mop 1 includes a dust attracting sheet (not shown), which covers the outer surface of a charging plate 3, and a slide plate 4 placed in such a manner as to be slidable against the charging plate 3. When the slide plate 4 is slid against the charging plate 3, static electricity is produced as the result of friction between the static generating fabric 41 of the slide plate 4 and the charging plate 3, charging the charging plate 3. Then an electrostatically induced charge is produced on the dust attracting sheet by the static electricity produced on the charging plate 3. If cleaning is performed with the static mop 1 under this state, dust clinging to time floor face, furniture, and the like is attracted by the charge on the dust attracting sheet.
