To provide a program of a status monitor for displaying proper status information even when an information processor is shifted to a power saving state or returned to a normal operating state.

When a PC is returned from a power saving state (second state) to a normal operating state (first state), and a message showing the result comes from the OS side, the message is detected (S1,011: YES), and a start signal for requesting start to provide status information is transmitted to a printer (S1,017). Even when the status of the printer side is initialized while the PC is shifted to the power saving state, the printer becomes ready to provide the status information. Therefore, the PC restarts processing for displaying the status of the printer without any problem.
