Title:
STEAM GENERATOR AND MICROWAVE OVEN HAVING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3634710
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam generator suitable for being attached to a microwave oven, quick in starting and needing no preheating.
SOLUTION: A porous material 14 composed of quartz glass and the like is arranged in a waveguide 11 equipped with a magnetron 12 and water is dropped on the porous material 14 through a water supply pipe 15 provided on the waveguide 11. The dropped water quickly permeates the porous material 14 to be held therein, and is heated to evaporate by a microwave supplied into the waveguide 11. A partition wall 56 through which the microwave can pass is provided between the magnetron 12 and the porous material 14, so that steam does not flow toward the magnetron 12 because of the partition wall 26, but is supplied to a heating chamber 50 together with a microwave that has not be used for vaporizing the water. As a result, a single magnetron can be used for generating steam as well as cooking food accommodated in the heating chamber 50.
