To enable the temperature control, and eliminate the condensate in a drilled passage at a high reliability in any working condition by forming a discharge pipe or a second drilled pipe so that the condensate and the steam are mixed for swirling.

Hot steam flows in a roll journal 2 through a supplying pipe 1. Furthermore, the hot steam flows to a passage 4 drilled in the periphery of a roll main body 5 thorough a steam passage 3, and on the other hand, the hot steam flows to a tip part of the roll through a central opening part 6 of the roll main body 5, and directed to the drilled passage provided in the periphery again. The condensate formed in the passage drilled in the periphery is extruded from the drilled passage 4, and flows to any one of the direction of the steam flow and the tip of the roll opposite to the steam flow. The condensate can be collected in a housing space 10, and discharged from the roll in the steam pressure condition.
