PURPOSE: To unnecessitate the excessive designed proof pressure of an evaporator, etc., and to reduce the apparatus cost, by placing a line to by-pass an LPG evaporator, changing over an automatic valve simultaneous to the shut- down and passing a purging steam to the by-pass line.
CONSTITUTION: A by-pass line 11 to by-pass an LPG evaporator 3 is attached to a reformed gas line 8 and is furnished with an automatic valve 12 interlocked with a cut-off valve attached to an LPG line 1. LPG is introduced from the LPG line 1 through the evaporator 3 and a desulfurization column 4 into a reforming furnace 6 and reformed. In the case of shut-down, the automatic valve 12 is operated to introduced the purging steam to the side of by-pass line 11 to purge the LPG. The abnormal pressure increase caused by the heating of the LPG remaining in the evaporator 3 with the purging steam can be avoided by the above construction.
