Abstract:
To provide a steam turbine and a method for operating the same reducing vibration of a shaft system.
This turbine is provided with a casing 2 forming a flow path of steam and a moving blade 15 converting motion of steam to rotary motion of a rotary shaft of a turbine shaft 16 around a center. The casing 2 and the moving blade 15 form a gap 10 leaking part of steam in a direction perpendicularly crossing the rotary shaft. The steam turbine is provided with a liner 8 detachably supported by a wall surface 7 touching the gap of the casing 2. In such steam turbine 1, flow rate/speed of steam flowing in the gap 10 can be adjusted to reduce vibration of the shaft system 3 by changing a shape of the liner 8.
