To produce a code with a laminar-twisted structure having the merits of laminar-twisted codes, in other words, enabling increase in corrosion resistance and productivity, as retaining a large code-breakage load and high fatigue resistance.
In the steel code with a 2+8 structure, in other words, that obtained by laminar-twisting a structure comprising the core 1 of two steel filament 2 and the sheath 4 of eight steel filaments with the same diameter as that of the filament 2 surrounding the core, the core 1 is constituted with two steel filaments each having two-dimensional wavy form, bundled substantially in parallel without twisting and the average diameter of the codes is regulated to more than 3.55 times the diameter of the steel filament.
