Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel cord, which improves rubber penetration and enables durability to be improved, and a pneumatic radial tire using the steel cord.SOLUTION: In a pneumatic radial tire, a steel cord 10, which has a two-layer structure formed of N (N=1 to 3) pieces of core filaments 11 and M (M=5 to 9) pieces of sheath filaments 12 that are stranded around the core filament 11, is used as a reinforcement cord. Two to (M - 2) pieces of sheath filaments 12A among the sheath filaments 12 are waved. All the waved sheath filaments 12A are disposed so as to continuously surround the core filament 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
