Abstract:
This invention can advantageously avoid the lowering of the resistance to corrosion fatigue, which becomes a problem in steel filaments having a high tensile strength, by rendering a ratio R1/R0 of radius of curvature R0 of a helix in each helically formed steel filament obtained by untwisting of the cord to radius of curvature R1 of helix after the removal of a surface layer from the inside of the helix in the steel filament into less than 1 in steel cords constituting a carcass or a belt of a pneumatic tire among rubber articles, particularly steel cords using a steel filament having a high tensile strength of 4000-4800 N/mm<2> without winding a wrapping wire around the outer peripheral surface thereof.
