To provide a steel fabric for reinforcing a rubber article, which is excellent in dimensional stability through stabilizing the way of incorporating a reinforcing material formed of steel, and capable of giving a rubber article having a rigidity higher than that of a conventional one.

The steel fabric 10 for reinforcing a rubber article is crimp weave with one or both of warps 1 and wefts 2 having a waveform and woven. In this steel fabric 10, the warp 1 is formed of a steel wire 0.15-0.38 mm in diameter or a steel cord obtained by twisting two or more of the above steel wires, and the weft 2 is formed of a steel wire 0.08-0.18 mm in diameter; alternatively, the warp 1 is formed of a flat steel wire meeting the relationship: W/T2 and 0.15 mmT0.38 mm (wherein, W is the width of the warp 2; and T is the thickness of the warp 2), and the weft 2 is formed of a steel wire 0.08-0.18 mm in diameter.
