Abstract:
To provide a material for machine structures which is excellent in machinability and twisting fatigue strength, and also is excellent in grooving to a steel and twisting fatigue strength after induction hardening.
The composition of the steel is limited to the one containing 0.35 to 0.48% C, >0.36 to <0.40% Si, 0.2 to 1.0% Mn, ≤0.025% P, ≤0.02% S, <0.03% Ti, >0.06 to <0.2% Al, 0.15 to <0.5% Cr, >0.005 to 0.008% N, ≤0.0030% O, 0.0002 to 0.0025% B and 0.0005 to 0.003% Sb, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
