Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a steel for machine structural use free from deterioration in mechanical properties and excellent in machinability.
CONSTITUTION: The steel has a composition where 0.01-1.0%, by mass, CuXNbSYSe2-Y or 0.01-1.0% AgXNbSYSe2-Y is further in corporated into a steel for machine structural use consisting of 0.05-0.8% C, 0.1-2.0% Si, 0.1-2.0% Mn, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. In the formulae, the symbols (X) and (Y) stand for >0.1-<1.0% and 0-2%, respectively.
