Abstract:

PURPOSE: To automatically and accurately inspect the content of a specific element in a steel material.
CONSTITUTION: The image of sparks 5 generated when a steel material 3 is scratched is picked up by a CCD camera 11 to obtain the spark image. A part 12 for extracting characteristic amount extracts a rupture region detected by a spark rupture-point detection device 2 based on the spark image obtained by the CCD camera 11 from the spark image obtained by the CCD camera 11, and divides the rupture region into a plurality of sectors. Then, the part 12 detects an area value occupied by an image in each sector, and the number of crossed images of emission lines for each sector. An inference mechanism 13 judges the content of a specific element in the steel material according to the distribution state of the area value and the number of crossed images detected by the part 12 for extracting the amount of feature.
