A drainage material 3 having projections and recesses on the outside surface and openings 14 in the recesses is mounted to a steel sheet pile and a steel pipe pile. Since there are projections and recesses in the drainage material, the projections are used as friction cutters in the case of driving to make spaces in the projections and recesses, the arch effect is brought from the projections adjacent to each other against earth pressure acting on the side of the drainage material in the case of using, and since earth pressure is not directly applied to the holes 14 in the recesses, the holes 14 in the recesses are hard to cause clogging troubles and the steel sheet pile and steel pipe pile with drainage function having high water permeability can be obtained.
