To provide a steel plate cell revetment capable of utilizing impermeability of an impermeable ground such as a cohesive soil ground or the like as a natural ground as it is, increasing the strength of the ground to vertical load by an inexpensive method and having high cut-off efficiency as the whole structure.
For a required section corresponding to the front side (sea side) of the steel plate cell revetment of the impermeable ground 5, the ground improvement is applied by a sand pile. A steel plate cell 1 is embedded up to a predetermined depth, and both steel plate cells 1 are connected with a joint fitting of steel plate arcs 2a and 2b. In that case, the lower end of the font side arc 2a is located in the ground improvement section 6, and the lower end of the back side arc 2b is located in the impermeable ground 5 as the natural ground. An area surrounded by the steel plate cell 1, the steel plate cell 1 and the arcs 2a and 2b is filled with a filler 3 such as sand and crushed stone or the like to make it stabilize as the steel plate cell revetment. And then. the back side of the steel place cell revetment is reclaimed by reclamation soil 8.
