Abstract:
To provide a high-strength steel plate that excels in cryogenic toughness and brittle crack inhibiting ability, in the case where it is produced in a simplified process using direct quenching and tempering.SOLUTION: A steel plate comprises, in mass%, C: 0.01% or more and 0.15% or less, Si: 0.01% or more and 0.50% or less, Mn: 0.05% or more and less than 0.20%, Ni: 6.0% or more and 7.5% or less, Cr: 0.01% or more and 1.00% or less, Mo: 0.01% or more and 0.50% or less, P: 0.03% or less, S: 0.005% or less, N: 0.0010% or more and 0.0080% or less, and Al: 0.008% or more and 0.100% or less, with the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities. The amount of retained austenite at a depth position of 1/4 of the plate thickness from the surface of the steel plate in the plate thickness direction is less than 1.7%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
