To provide a steel strip coiling device capable of effectively evading bending by buckling at the tip of a steel strip to coil the sheet strip at a high speed and also evading the large increase of equipment cost.
Unit rolls 8a-8c are provided movably forward and backwards between the peripheral position of a winding drum and a retracting position on the outer peripheral surface of the winding drum 4 for coiling the steel strip 3 and curved-surface guides 12a-12c in an adjacent relation to these unit rolls 8a-8c. The positions of the winding drum 4 and unit rolls 8a-8c when the steel strip 3 is entered are arranged on the downstream side at an angle of ≤ about 15° from the position where the winding drum 4 is brought into contact with the steel strip 3. Jet nozzles 15 for jetting gaseous or liquefied fluid at high speed toward the steel strip 3 by the steel strip 3 collides against the curved surface guides 12a-12c are provided on the guiding surfaces of the curved-surface guides 12a-12c.
