Title:
STEEL WIRE FOR GAS SHIELD ARC WELDING AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000158182
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To stabilize an arc and realize a low spatter by enabling a spray transfer of droplets in a MAG welding while a Ar+CO2 mixture gas whose CO2 ratio is more than 25 vol.% is used as a shield gas.

In the wire, Ca is limited to 0.0020% or less, and the wire is also composed of 0.0035-0.0150 mass % K and 0.0080-0.0800 mass % O, whereby spray transfer of droplets can be performed. Also, the wire may contain 0.05-0.30%, in total, of one or more kinds of Ti, Zr, and Al or 0.015-0.030% S. It is preferable that a potassium salt solvent is applied to a strand before annealing in a wire manufacturing process and then the strand is annealed, so as to adjust volumes of K and O.
