To provide a manufacturing method for a steel wire capable of manufacturing a solid wire or a plated steel wire for a strand wire with high elongation having the butt elongation (hereafter referred to elongation) of 3% or higher and a high toughness having the twist time in the extent of 40 times or more of antifatigue property, and the steel wire having such a feature, inexpensively, at a high speed and evenly.
The manufacture of the steel wire is so conducted that, in the steel wire, a bending load of approximately 7-50% of a strand cutting load after C: 0.24-0.86% elongation working is applied to provide the approximately 3% or more of butt elongation property, and in the manufacturing method for the steel wire, the steel wire after elongation bending is applied to a roller in an unduration shape or S-shape to perform bending work, wherein the total load of the bending work is regulated in the state of approximately 7-50% of the strand cutting load.
