The steering column for the vehicle comprises an upper side steering shaft 32 rotatably supported in the steering column 31, an intermediate shaft 33 coupled to the shaft 32 of the upper side, and a steering shaft 34 of the lower side coupled to the shaft 33. A spline engaging part 35 is provided at the shaft 34, and a second roller 2 of the transmission (actuator) 40 utilizing the wedge action is spline-engaged with the engaging part 35.
