PURPOSE: To strongly fix a turning shaft to a steering shaft with a little force and enable stepless angle regulation by forming the engagement part between the steering shaft and the turning shaft of a taper shaft and a taper bearing part.

CONSTITUTION: A steering device for electric automobile has a turning shaft 4 connected to a caster 3 for supporting a steering wheel 2, and the turning shaft 4 is supported to a vehicle body 6 in the state capable of turning by a bearing part 5. A steering shaft 7 is connected to the turning shaft 4 by an engagement part, and the engagement part 8 has a taper shaft 11 having an axial line crossing at a right angle to the steering shaft 7 and its axial line on the lower end of the steering shaft 7 and a taper bearing part 12 provided on the upper end of the turning shaft 4 to be fitted to the taper shaft 11. A screw hole 15 is formed in the center of the taper shaft 11, and the screw part 17 at the top end of a nob 16 is fastened to the screw hole 15, whereby the both 11, 12 are fixed to each other.
