Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a variation in internal pressure of a steering device accompanying steering to improve durability of an extension member and move smoothly rack bars.SOLUTION: The steering device is provided with extension members 70 which extend accompanying movements of a pair of rack bars 53 and 54 while wholly covering rack bars 53 and 54. When the pair of rack bars 53 and 54 are brought from an approached state into an opened state so that inner volumes of the extension members 70 are increased, air corresponding to the increased inner volumes is suctioned through an outside air port 72 into inside the extension members 70. While, when the pair of rack bars 53 and 54 are brought from the opened state into the approached state so that the inner volumes of the extension members 70 are decreased, air corresponding to the decreased inner volumes is exhausted through the outside air port 72 to the outside of the extension members 70.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
