Abstract:
To provide a downsized steering device capable of reducing the protruding length of a rack shaft from the end of a housing at a side with which no tie rod is coupled in accordance with a request from a vehicle.SOLUTION: A steering device 1 includes: a stopper portion 16 which is provided at one end portion 24c of a rack shaft 24 and which is provided in a first open end portion 11 of a housing 10; an abutting portion 26 which is provided at the one end portion of the rack shaft 24 and which abuts the stopper portion 16 so as to restrict the movement of the rack shaft 24 to one direction in the axial-line direction of such a shaft; and a first bellows-type boot 40 in a bag shape which has an opened portion fastened to an outer circumferential surface 11c of the first open end portion 11 of the housing 10, stores the one end portion 24c of the rack shaft 24 and the abutting portion 26 in an internal space IA1, and prevents water from entering in the internal space IA1 from an external space OA. The first boot 40 is not fastened to the one end portion 24c of the rack shaft 24 or the abutting portion 26 which are stored in the first boot.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
