PURPOSE: To relatively improve rigidity of the front part of a ring part while satisfying a request for light weight by forming the die-cast formed parts corresponding to right and left spoke parts constituting the front span of the ring part, so that thickness in the vertical direction of the front side part is thicker than thickness in the right and left direction.
CONSTITUTION: The ring part R of a steering wheel SW with an air bag device is formed out of a ring part core member 6 composed of a hollow ring part core metal 4 and aluminum die-cast formed parts 5A, 5B, 5C including the core metal 4 in the vicinity of connecting positions of respective spoke parts S1, S2, S3, and a coating layer 7 covering the aluminum die-cast formed parts 5A, 5B, 5C. The aluminum die-cast formed parts 5A, 5B corresponding to left and right spoke parts S1, S2 forming the span L1 of the ring part R are formed, so that thickness T1 in the vertical direction of the front side parts 5A1, 5B1 is thicker than thickness T3 in the right and left direction. In this way, while satisfying a request for light weight, the front part RF of the ring part can be relatively improved in rigidity.
