Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent a pad section from rattling, by fitting column side and pad side sun gears onto a common boss by means of bearings. CONSTITUTION:When a ring section is rotated in association with the steering operation of a vehicle, a boss 4 and a boss plate 7 are rotated. Then, planetary members 14 supported to the boss plate 7 revolute while they revolve around the outer peripheries of column side and pad side sun gears 9, 12. Meanwhile, the column side and pad side sun gears 9, 12 rotate relative to the boss 4 due to the provision of bearings 8. Since the column side sun gear 9 is unrotatably locked to a column 1 by means of a locking member 10, the pad side sun gear 12 which is relatively rotated by the planetary members 14, does not rotate with respect to the column 1. Accordingly, a pad section 13 is unrotatably fixed to the column.
