Band-shaped stencil base paper 11 is wound around an annular roll 12, and an end mark 11em indicating a portion near an end of the stencil base paper 11 is applied to a predetermined position beforehand. When a plate making image is thermally punched for plate making on the stencil base paper 11 drawn out from the annular roll 12 within a plate making unit 10 by using a thermal head 26 based on image information, a control part 80 continuously performs plate making even if the end mark 11em is detected by an end mark detection sensor 22 provided within the plate making unit 10 to make last one plate, and automatically discharges remaining amount of the stencil base paper 11 which is not processed and remains after the last one plate is made during plate making to inside of a plate discharge box 71 without the remaining amount clamped by a clamp plate 64 mounted to an outer peripheral face of a printing cylinder 63.
