To realize the avoidance of the reversal of a printing image, which occurs at a both-sided manuscript or at a specified case of a single-sided manuscript and the acquisition of a printed matter having the same image position as the manuscript by a method wherein an image processing means for converting image signals so as to change the position of an image formed on a heat sensitive stencil paper is provided.
At the plate-making of lengthwise long and cross stiched both-sided manuscripts, for example, image signals, which are obtained by reading the surfaces of the manuscripts, are sent to a thermal head 24 in the order as they are read. On the other hand, at the plate-making or the rear side, after the image signals are written in a memory system 58, the image signals are read in an address order, which is the reverse of a writing order, by the signals sent from an addressing device 65 and then sent to a thermal head 124. Accordingly, at printing, a lengthwise long and cross stitched perfecting paper having the same image position as that of a lengthwise long and cross stiched both-sides manuscript is outputted. Thus, the reversal of a printing image, which occurs at the both-sided manuscript or at a specified case of a single-sided manuscript, can be avoided, so that a printed matter having the same time position as that of the manuscript can be obtained.
