To effectively prevent an incidence of restenosis in the vicinity even if a stent is indwelt in a body by forming a ferrite film on the surface in a cylindrical stent used to maintain the dilation of a stricture part formed in an organic canal such as a blood vessel.
This stent has a cylindrical shape, has a large number of through hole parts, and forms a ferrite film at least on an inner wall surface. A body of the stent is formed of a metallic material or a high polymer material. The size can be formed in various dimensions according to the size of a blood vessel to be treated, and normally, the length is 1 to 5 mm, an inner diameter is 0.5 to 3 mm, an outer diameter is 0.5 to 4 mm, and a thickness is about 0.01 to 2 mm. A large number of through holes are provided since there is the necessity of dilating an intravascular lumen required for treatment, the shape is not particularly limited when a purpose can be attained, and can be formed in an optional shape such as a circular shape, an elliptic shape, a rectangular shape, a rhombic shape and a polygonal shape. A thickness of the ferrite film is about 1 to 10 μm.
