Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a stent with a smooth surface by installing a hollow tube having open ends and a series of slots and by rounding the stent end parts and the slots, thus preventing an intracorporal passage from being damaged by the stent. CONSTITUTION: A stent 54 has a metallic tube, which has open ends and a series of slots 56 to effect expanding toward the radius direction so as to permit the stent to enlarge its diameter. The stent locates at an intermediate of the longitudinal length of the connectable part 58, which connects the stent part with a metallic support 60 that provides the stent with some adjustability along the lengthwise direction. At end parts of both the stent 54 and the slots there are provided round terminals 62. Thus the surface of the stent 54 is formed smooth and an intracorporal passage can be prevented from being damaged.
