PURPOSE: To load a wheelchair wihtout a complicated mechanism by inserting a reverse U-shaped holding member into a supporting tube of a supporting member within a pedal part through a drilled hole formed in the pedal part of a step.

CONSTITUTION: This step 1 for riding rear wheels 2 of a wheelchair is provided with a pedal part 3 and riser part 4, and a pair of drilled holes H, 9a, 9b, 10a, and 10b, are formed on the riser part 4 of the padal part 3. In addition, supporting tubes 11a and 11b whose diameter is the same as that of the drilled hole H, a reinforcing tube 12 for reinforcing the supporting tubes 11a and 11b, and a supporting member 11 comprised of the supporting tubes 11a and 11b and holding tubes 13a and 13b are fitted at a position coincided with the supporting tubes 11a and 11b. When the wheelchair is loaded, both legs 14a and 14b of a holding member 14 with a reverse U chape are inserted into the supporting tubes 11a and 11b of the supporting member 11 from the upper side of the pedal part 3 through the drilled hole H, thereby holding the rear wheel of the wheelchair by the holding member 14.
