Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converter of high efficiency and high power factor wherein restraint effect of higher harmonic is large, especially, in a power supply of comparatively large capacity, an output voltage does not decrease, and design freedom is large.
SOLUTION: A capacitance input circuit is constituted of a first inductor N1, a second inductor N2, a third inductor L3 magnetically coupled with them, a rectification circuit 6 connected with the inductor L3, and a second capacitor C3 connected with the output of the rectification circuit 6. In a step-up type AC/DC converter, an intermediate phase current forming means which gives a third peak current (c) is constituted by the capacitance input circuit. The third peak current (c) has a phase between a first peak current (b) and a second peak current (a). Therefore, an input current is corrected by 3 points, and can be made a voltage waveform more approximate to a sinusoidal wave.
