Abstract:
The present invention aims to provide an apparatus and a method for driving a stepping motor which can realize high-speed drive while suppressing the heat generation or vibration of the stepping motor. The solution is a stepping motor driving apparatus (10), which includes: a pulse generating part (21) for generating a pulse signal for driving and controlling a stepping motor (7); and a current control part (22) which changes a first current (IA) supplied to the first coil (13A) of the stepping motor (7) and a second current (IB) supplied to the second coil (13B) of the stepping motor (7) while the stepping motor (7) is driven by a basic step angle.
