Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which can display stereoscopic images even if parallax barriers and lenticular lenses are not used and further even if spectacles are not used.
SOLUTION: The display device is provided with a plurality of reflectors 21 and 22 for reflecting incident light to either a left eye or right eye direction and the directivity of exit light is restricted by the reflectors 21 and 22, by which an image for the left eye is supplied to the left eye 1 and an image for the right eye is supplied to the right eye 2. Accordingly, the images for the left eye and the right eye are made separately visible even if the optical elements, such as the parallax barriers and lenticular lenses, are not arranged in front of a screen and even if the spectacles are not used. The stereoscopic display device which makes unsightly vertical stripes invisible on the screen, is inexpensive and durable, and is highly reliable can be provided.
