Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a stereoscopic display device capable of blocking a video hard to observe when a channel is switched and recognizing the optimum video by an observer with simple constitution.
CONSTITUTION: When a stereoscopic video is displayed, a video signal detected by a video detection circuit 5 is converted to a stereo-scopic signal in which a video signal for left eye and the one for right eye are switched alternately at every field by a stereoscopic video circuit 13, and displayed on a CRT via a video amplifier circuit 6. At this time, a shutter switching synchronizing signal is outputted from the stereoscopic video circuit 13 to a shutter switching signal transmission circuit 14, and the liquid crystal shutter of spectacles is switched by the signal synchronizing with the switching of the video signals for left eye and right eye. When the channel is switched, a mute signal is outputted from a channel selection circuit 3 to the video amplifier circuit 6, and the blanking of the video is performed only for a fixed period, and the mute signal is also outputted to the shutter switching signal transmission circuit 14, and the transmission of a shutter control signal is stopped for the fixed period.
