Abstract:
To enhance UV conversion efficiency and sterilization efficiency even if the temperature of fluid to be treated is low.
A cold cathode lamp 2 is constituted by airtightly inclosing electrodes 5 and 5 into both ends of a light emitting tube 4 made of quartz. The bore of the light emitting tube 4 is ≥3 to ≤6 mm and mercury and rare gas are inclosed into the light emitting tube 4. The rare gas is a gaseous mixture composed of Ne and Ar having a ratio of Ne of ≥80% and the sealing pressure into the light emitting tube 4 is ≥40 to ≤200 Torr. A container 3 is formed of translucent material and the cold cathode lamp 2 is inclosed therein.
