Abstract:
A vibratory stirrer (16) comprising vibration blades (16f) fixed to a vibration transmitting rod (16e) vibrating while being linked with a vibrating motor (16d) wherein each vibration blade (16f) has a surface made of anatase−type TiO2 activated by a photo catalyst. A plurality of optical fibers are fixed, as the light emitting member of a light irradiating means, near or close to the surface. UV−rays emitted from a light source (51) is guided by a light guide (52) to the optical fibers on the vibration blades (16f). The optical fibers are held to extend along the surface of the vibration blades (16f) and provided, and each has, on the side face, a light−leaking part for leaking light to the surface of the vibration blade (16f). The optical fibers each comprise a bundle of a plurality of optical elemental fibers and exhibits flexibility. An enclosed waterproof illuminator emitting ultraviolet radiation can be used as the light emitting member of the light irradiating means. Even a liquid to be sterilized and having a low light transmittance or an object immersed in such a liquid can thereby be sterilized in a short time without requiring any chemical, e.g. disinfectant or sterilizer.
