Abstract:

To provide a sterilizing or inactivating apparatus and method that capture bacteria and viruses floating in air on a roughened reflection plate irradiated with deep ultraviolet rays.SOLUTION: An apparatus is constituted with a float portion 2 for introducing a gas to be treated, a metal plate 100 having a function of interrupting the flow of gas discharged from an exhaust port 4 of the float portion and at least a portion of which is made of metal, and a light source 3 for irradiating uv-rays on the metal plate, wherein a surface on a side where air is blown to the reflection plate is roughened. It is effective to form multiple intersecting grooves on the surface of the metal plate with laser, the bacteria and viruses contained in the blown air captured by random concavo-convex shape of the metal plate surface and effect of the metal or uv rays are increased.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
