Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily develop a stern duct capable of improving propulsion efficiency as well as suppressing scale influence between a model ship and an actual ship.SOLUTION: A stern duct (20) generating propulsion force by using flow along a hull is formed in a vertically long shape with greater duct height in the height direction of the hull than a duct width in the width direction of the hull so as to generate a large propulsion force to a duct side by utilizing the flow along the sides of the hull. The stern duct is capable of being developed relatively easily since the design is capable with priority on propulsion force generated in the duct itself with little scale influence than wake gain easily influenced by the scale influence.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
