Title:
STIRRER FOR ELECTRODEPOSITION PAINT BATH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5976896
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To stir a paint having high mol.wt. in a large sized deposition tank without spoiling the stability thereof and without the generation of heat and foam by using double tanks for the electrodeposition tank having an open top side into which a substrate is dipped, and circulating the paint in the space between the inside and outside tank as a circuit. CONSTITUTION:An inside tank 8 is formed in an electrodeposition tank 1 to make double tanks, and a bottom flow passage 9 and both side flow passages 10, 10 are formed between the inside and outside tank so that the paint bath gushes up from the bottom at the center of the tank 8. The paint bath flowing upward overflows from the side wall 12 of the tank 8 and again flows downward in the flow passages 9, 10, 10 while the paint bath is stirred by stirring vanes 13, 13... of a draft tube mixer forming the downward flow. Therefore, the passages 10, 10 correspond to a pump casing and the vanes 13, 13... to a pump impeller, thus preventing the circulating paint bath from being restricted and being mechanically sheared. The liquid levels of the tank 8 and the passages 10, 10 constitute approximately the same plane, giving no difference in the static pressure and eliminating mechanical shear. As a result, the breakage of the emulsion particles is prevented.
