Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a stock solution having an easily adjustable pot life and not suffering from decreased production efficiency even in the production of a large molding by dividing an activity modifier which is added to prepare a stock solution for the production of a norbornene resin molding and adding the two divided portions to the respective stock solutions.
CONSTITUTION: A stock solution for the production of a norbornene resin molding is formed from a stock solution (solution A) containing a norbornene monomer, a metathesis catalyst and at least part of an activity modifier and a stock solution (solution B) containing a norbornene monomer, a cocatalyst and the rest of the activity modifier. The amounts of the activity modifier portions added are about 1-50% for solution A and about 50-99% for solution B. By bulk-polymerizing a norbornene monomer by using a casting machine capable of adjusting the solution A to solution B ratio, a norbornene resin molding is produced.
