PURPOSE: To mechanize operations for supplying containers and stoppers and for fitting the stoppers into the containers by providing between the mouth of each container and the outer periphery of each stopper a spacing pin for communicating the inside of each container with the outside, when the stoppers supplied from a stopper supply mechanism are held in the upper position of each container, are pressed down by a stopper driving pin, and fitted into the mouth of each container.

CONSTITUTION: A spacing pin 31 is mounted integrally with the outer periphery of a stopper driving pin 28 in such a way as to be parallel to the axis of the stopper driving pin 28 and slightly spaced from the underside of the outer periphery. When a disc 23 is rotated, stoppers 3 supplied and supported onto a plate-shaped guide from the end of a chute are engaged in an engagement recess 23b, are taken out one by one, and sucked by the lower end portion of the stopper driving pin 28 which is lowered a predetermined amount immediately after the stoppers are taken out. When the spacing pin 31 is lowered, its lower end portion 31a is elastically deformed toward the stopper driving pin 28 while being engaged on the slope of the upper side of the inner periphery of a through hole 23c, is guided to the lower side of the inner periphery of the through hole 23c, and passes through the hole while being directed vertically downwards.
